I cannot believe that closure of the mind to evidence against what one believes can be a good thing for our species, even though it seems to come naturally.
I think that an openness to feedback is what promotes our wisdom, our ability to use our environment as fertilizer for our minds.
I therefore believe that friendly debate is one of our highest functions, even though it is one of our most difficult skills.
