Wording suggestion for 109, Agreement, Certainty

Post by Wendy R »

"00109 The feeling of certainty that you are correct when there is another person believing that you are not is no good evidence that you are correct."

I believe "The feeling of certainty that you are correct when there is another person believing that you are not is no good evidence that you are correct." should go:
"The feeling of certainty that you are correct is not sufficient evidence that you are correct.""
Or good rather than sufficient might be fine, but I think it is that "feeling" we should discount somewhat, not just that someone else thinks differently.

OR better yet, just juggle the phrases: "The feeling of certainty that you are correct is not sufficient evidence that you are correct, especially when there is another person believing that you are not."

Just came across this post. I think the alternative statements are good, but three people (including myself) have agreed with it as stated, so even if I removed my vote it would not be editable, and I am not convinced that there would be that significant of a difference. We can discuss this further though, and if important, the improved wording could be submitted and placed under the original, so that people could choose, and if the original became abandoned enough or voted against, it would disappear eventually.
